USB Port Not Working Empty Re: USB Port Not Working

With a laptop USB port, when it goes bad, it is usually very difficult and not cost-effective to repair as usually only the manufacturer can repair/replace the usb port. This is because the USB ports on laptops are usually soddered directly into the mainboard (motherboard). A cheap alternative is to purchase a "USB Hub" that act as simply a splitter that you can plug into another USB port on your laptop that is working. That is of course, assuming that you do have another USB port on your laptop that does still work. A USB hub usually "splits" an existing USB port into 4 more USB ports and costs anywhere from $10-$20. Hope this info helps.
